FEMA’s National Integration Center (NIC) releases updated National Incident Management System Training Program

29 May 2020 12:21 PM | Anonymous

On May 28, 2020, FEMA’s National Integration Center (NIC) released the updated National Incident Management System Training Program, which sets forth a structure for national training and establishes the roles and responsibilities of FEMA and members of the NIMS stakeholder community. It identifies specific activities for developing, maintaining, and sustaining a training program that prepares all incident personnel to understand their respective responsibilities and work together during incidents.

The revised NIMS Training Program introduces training Focus Areas based on incident position and responsibility. These areas include the Incident Command System, Joint Information System, Emergency Operation Center, and the Multiagency Coordination Group.

The revised NIMS Training Program can be found here: .

The NIMS Training Program specifies National Integration Center and stakeholder responsibilities and activities for developing, maintaining and sustaining NIMS training. The NIMS Training Program outlines responsibilities and activities that are consistent with the National Training Program, as mandated by the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006.

FEMA will host a series of 60-minute webinars to discuss the revised NIMS Training Program and answer related questions. All webinars are open to stakeholders across the whole community, and each webinar will cover the same information.
