EMERGENCY, SAFETY & HEALTH SERVICES DIVISION
Emergency Management Department
SALARY RANGE: $5712/month - $9140/month
JOB DUTIES:
Conducts Emergency Planning Hazards Surveys and Assessments utilizing specific DOE guidance for potential emergency events and conditions. Evaluates changes to facilities, operations and hazardous material inventories for impacts on potential emergency events and conditions. Applies qualitative and quantitative analytical methods. Conducts consequence assessments utilizing a variety of modeling software. Serves as subject matter expert for a variety of Emergency Management-related project teams. Develops and revises documentation supporting emergency planning surveys, analyses, and related end products such as identification of Emergency Planning Zones and emergency equipment and facilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and their application to risk analysis, qualitative and quantitative risk assessment, facilities and systems operation, and manufacturing processes and systems; demonstrated knowledge of emergency operations and emergency management; demonstrated specific knowledge of atmospheric dispersion modeling, toxicological and radiological dose assessment methods; demonstrated experience preparing, reading and interpreting complex information regarding technical matters; demonstrated experience coordinating projects from inception to completion, including review criteria, specifications, calculations and analysis of information; demonstrated experience conducting formal presentations to company personnel and other interested individuals; demonstrated experience reviewing programmatic documentation for technical accuracy; demonstrated experience performing as the technical lead and/or supporting the efforts of a team; and demonstrated experience presenting information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Physics or a related chemical or nuclear science, combined with at least 6 years related experience in Emergency Management or Hazards Assessments, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Active DOE ‘Q’ Clearance is preferred.
Applicants must meet the requirements of DOE Order 5480.20A (i.e., Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related science, 2 years job-related experience and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 5480.20A alternative. Note: Entry-level positions without the authority to supervise, make independent decisions, or review and concur do not have to meet the job-related and nuclear experience requirement. Ref. U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for all jobs at Pantex.
