
The DFW Metroplex Salvation Army seeks an experience Disaster Services Manager for the Area Command
JOB SUMMARY:
Directs, coordinates and monitors the disaster services program for preparedness and response; develops, organizes and implements strategic plans for disaster service training; facilitates planning for acquisition of disaster related supplies, their distribution and warehousing networks; maintains current information on disaster service resource levels including personnel, equipment and supplies; researches, recommends and implements effective communication and software systems to ensure the effective logistical success of disaster services; serves as an informational resource/liaison to the Metroplex Leadership, Corps Officers and staff, as well as local emergency officials; handles ongoing disaster vehicle maintenance and purchasing of equipment; works with the Metroplex Resource Development Department to develop and maintain income streams sufficient to sustain financially the DFWMC disaster program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related field, and Three to five years experience in disaster services management, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
Valid Texas State Driver’s License
Incident Command Certificate
Emergency Management Certificate
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work may be performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors where there may be physical discomforts associated with driving in heavy traffic and changes in weather.
Work may require exposure to various types of hazards to include, natural hazards (i.e. forest or range fires, floods, hurricane, tornadoes, lightning, show or ice storms and droughts, technology hazards such as major transportation accidents, oil spills, industrial fires and explosions, fixed nuclear accidents or hazardous materials spill; and man-made hazards such as wars, terrorist attacks, civil unrest, strikes or outages of energy-producing resources).
