What is the Emergency Management Association of Texas?
EMAT Strategic Overview
The Emergency Management Association of Texas Board of Directors is responsible for establishing the goals of the association. EMAT members should submit goals, ideas, criticisms, and comments to the board of directors. An ad hoc Strategic Planning committee is convened periodically as needed to help guide the association in determining future development strategies. When the ad hoc committee is reconvened in the future, informaiton on the committee progress will be posted to this page.

EMAT provides an opportunity for members to shape emergency management policy and practice in Texas.

- Advance the professionalism of Emergency Management in Texas.
- Increase membership.
- As an organization, foster relations with other emergency management organizations.
- Address Federal/State emergency management issues.
- Develop and foster information sharing and mutual support networks for all phases of emergency management.
